2024 Hanbok Culture Week : Fashion Show

Han_Gyeol : ‘Extraordinary Ordinariness’

For the 2024 Hanbok Culture Week, the fashion show in the courtyard of the Seoul Craft Museum displayed the unique but extraordinary beauty of hanbok under the theme of “Han_Gyeol.” Using my textile

designs, it showcased traditional Korean hanbok and hanboks designed to fit a modern body and lifestyle. 14 ‘houses’ were built in the courtyard of the Seoul Craft Museum, which at sunset in autumn created a tranquil atmosphere like a neighborhood feast. 40 models paraded around the courtyard of the museum to show off their hanbok, and then entered the ‘house’ closest to the audience. It was a feast where audiences located far away could participate in real-time through watching via YouTube, and where related hanbok videos could be watched together on a large LED screen and cameras around the courtyard transmitted images simultaneously.
